This is one of the better events of the year so dont miss it!!

They put on a WW1 air show and a motorcycle show combined.

Since we have members coming from Hagerstown and Columbia Im going to start the ride from the usual Urbana exit off of 270 and ride over to meet them at Point of Rocks. From there we can ride down 15.

This will be a intermediate ride that even you beginners will enjoy! And, I promise to keep the speeds down.

Meetup at Urbana 9:00 am ride to Point of Rocks by 9:30

(For those of you meeting at Point of Rocks first dont forget there working on the tracks and theres a huge detour)

.You can get around it by taking 80 to L on 85 and R on Adamstown Rd Then Left on Ballenger Creek Rd to Point of Rocks)

    At Flat Rock, we were as high as any plane at the Flying Circus. Great venue and great company.

    Was a great ride up to Flat Rock. The weather held out and the day ended up being pretty excellent. And luck was on my side heading home. No rain (passed through just before me) while on the bike. Barry, thanks for a great last minute alternative ride.

    The air show actually starts at 2 when all the strong storms are coming in so I cancelled the ride. However, Im still going to be at the Urbana 7/11 at 9:00 if anyone wants to join me in a short ride.

    If anyone is interested you can go on the Flying Circus site and print out $2.00 discount coupons. Its only $5.00 to get in so Im not sure they will be any good but its worth trying

    Im planning to be there by 9:30 but it could vary slightly. You now the drill. It takes about 30 minutes from Urbana Theres no rush since the show doesnt start til after lunch. Also we have some newbees coming

    I will be at the Point of Rocks location by 9:15am. Urbana departure is at 9am and then the VA folks should meet at Point of Rocks rail station parking lot (on east side of river 1/4 mi south of bridge) for a 9:30am departure to Flying Circus.

    Usually, we VA'ers meet up with the group in the VA side of Whites Ferry. From Hagerstown, maybe good to cross Point of Rock and take 15 to Harpers. I'll be there with others from VA.

Who attended?

    • “ The "Circus" was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. But Bear salvaged the day by leading us over some fabulous country roads to Flat Rock. We had burgers for lunch and then continued riding. I just return home in time to miss the storms. ”
    • “ Even though the Flying Circus trip was cancelled Barry was kind enough to take those of us who didn't realize it was cancelled on an impromptu ride to Flat Rock. Had a great time! Nice group of people. Lesson 101: always double check the board before you take off for a meetup. (Although I'm kind of glad I didn't this time or I would of missed a fun ride. LOL!) Memorable quotes: "Does anyone know where we are?" Reply (Guy from VA): "Maryland?" "What's at Flat Rock?" Reply: " A ROCK!". Can you say Rocket Scientists! LOL!! ”
