How about a Holiday Party?

We get together, we ride, but we don't really take the time to just hang out. How about getting together with friends and taking time to be thankful for the Freedom to Ride where we want, when we want and spend time with whomever we want?
I would love to hear from y'all to know if this is something that might interest you. If so, Ronny and I would volunteer our house for the event (we live in West Fort Worth). We have a spacious open area for mingling and plenty of room to lay out a spread. I would suggest that if this is something we want to do that we all bring a dish/dessert. Interested? I was actually thinking maybe December 5th or 6th or 11th or 12th. Reply to this post if you are or aren't interested and if it sounds like a good idea I'll start working on it. |

Sounds like a great idea. We'll just keep an eye on the weather. Will you be wanting a "white elephant" gift swap, too and with a "nothing over $10.00" rule?????

Sounds like a great idea. We'll just keep an eye on the weather. Will you be wanting a "white elephant" gift swap, too and with a "nothing over $10.00" rule????? I think this is up to the group. If we want to do a gift swap or Chinese Christmas exchange, I say cool... if we just want to hang out and eat that's cool too. I think majority rules on this one. What's everyone think? And just to say... I think Ronny and I may be the only one with small kids and our house is back to just our 7 year old twins... which we can just let them hang out in one of their rooms and play and watch movies or send them to someone else's house for the evening... but don't if you have little one's or grandkids you need to watch the night of the party... don't let that stop you, we are a kid friendly house and we can have plenty for them to do too. FYI... we do have indoor dogs, we can crate them for the evening so they won't be in the way, but I just want everyone to be aware that they do live in the house in case you have allergies. One final note that I think it is important to say about a celebration: If you want to drink alcoholic beverages, please feel free to bring your own. If you plan to consume alcohol please keep in mind that if you have a little too much we will have plenty of people available to drive you home... come and enjoy, we just want everyone around for the next holiday season too. |
