I just got off the phone with Big D's BBQ. They'll be open on Sunday from 10:30-7 and they take credit cards and cash...NO CHECKS..so plan accordingly. Their combo plates are still $6.00 which include a sandwich/chips/drink and the boy I talked to said that now they serve ribs! COME HUNGRY...LOL

JOPLIN, TEXAS. Originally called Haley Springs. It has served as a community center for area farmers throughout its history. Its population, estimated at thirty-five in 1892, grew to seventy-five by 1896 and was reported at that level until the mid-1940s, when it dropped to fifty. The Fairview School, three churches, a general store, a mill, and a gin were present in the community by 1896. The post office, established in 1891, closed in 1914

BALSORA, TEXAS. The area was originally called Wild Horse Prairie because it was frequented by mustangs. Balsora was established in the late 1880s or early 1890s. Postal service to the community began in 1894, was halted two years later, and began again in 1900. By that time Balsora had a general store, a church, and a school. The population, however, never exceeded fifty, and in 1924 postal service to the community ended. In 1990 and 2000 the population was fifty

AGNES,TX: Settlement began there in the late 1870s. The community petitioned for postal service in 1879 under the name Agnes, in honor of Agnes Mull, the daughter of a pioneer physician in North Texas. Area farmers brought their crops to Agnes to be processed at the cotton gin and gristmill. Cotton, corn, and oats were shipped on the Texas and Pacific Railway. Its population has never exceeded 100.
