Ok, here's the route:
When we leave Billy Bobs we'll head east to US 377 and then turn north/north east until US 377 intersects HWY 56 just south of Whitesboro (about 80 miles) . We'll then head due east on TX 56 until we reach HWY 11 east of Sherman (about 18 miles). We'll head south on TX 11 until it intersects FM 697. Here's where the real fun starts. This is 16 mile REAL twisty road!
From FM 697 we'll intersect US 69 and head due south to Whitewright (about 20 miles). US 69 merges with TX 160.
Now we'll turn back east om FM121 which will take us through Pilot Grove, Cannon, Van Alstyne, Elmont, Gunter and then to Tioga (about 53 miles). This is where we'll connect back up with US 377 and head back to Fort Worth.

This is a little bit longer trip than usual, but I've been told that the 16 mile 697 is sooo well worth the ride.

Lunch will be when we all decide we're hungry and find some place along the way to stop for a bite.
We'll take as many gas/pit stops as needed since this is a LONGER ride than usual.
Bring sunscreen and water if you can.

Approximate Distance: 153 miles
This ride will take about 3-4 hours.

    CITY LIMITS: instead of turning onto 56, we continued N on 377 till we reached 82 THEN we headed E till intersecting Texoma Pkwy.. N on Texoma Pkwy led us to City Limits,a GREAT burger joint in Sherman.When we left City Limits we went S on Texoma Pkwy, went under US 82 and took a left at the light on Grand Ave. You'll pass Austin College. Stay in the left hand lane then take a left on Lamar. This will lead you to SH 56 where you head E (right) on TX 56 until we reached HWY 11 east of Sherman.

    I found a typo on this, so if you chose to ride this at a future date, you turn WEST on FN 121 to head towards Tioga.

    Ok guys, I tweaked the details a bit...PLEASE print out a copy. This really looks like a fun ride. I also want to thank the folks who have already RSVP'd!!!! Way to go, folks!!!

    This meet up group is the bomb. Dragin and Madmonk do an outstanding job of holding it all together. Kudos guys.

    I found hwy 697 outside of Sherman. It's supposed to be quite twisty. Anybody ridden it?

    I still want to try to head east this time. I'm going over routes. If anyone knows of something good, please post.
