Time - 5.5 hours riding - about 7 hours with lunch and stops

NEW CHECKLIST

This ride takes us north along the ocean and to a popular biker location, Earl's. This isn't from the TV show, but you'll love all the bikes. After we get north of Jupiter Island the coastal roads we take move a little more quickly with speed limits of 45 or 50 instead of the 30 mph we see often. It's more pleasant, especially with the temperatures warming up now. We should be there about 10:30 to 11:00.


Kickstands back up at 12:00 so we can top off the fuel tanks for the ride home. Details of the route are below and are subject to change. John knows where construction is that we'll avoid and the ride will be nice. Our TCS friends will be with us beginning in Stuart. Many are also members of our group. This is a good ride for 500cc bikes and larger. While the distance and speeds are not great, the resulting time in the saddle is. We will keep you posted on weather conditions and changes in the shouts on this event. Check here before you leave that morning.

Tentative Route Plan

An alternate route home will be CR512 to SR60 to US441 to SR71 and SR710 home if needed.

    Checking the weather, it looks like we can make the ride. Radar shows little activity except some rain in the Jacksonville area and a shower or two in Dade. The forecast gives us a window till about 2:00 PM or so. I will be at HD. If Connie and Allen don't show by 8:00, I'll call Lisa.

    Night before forecast... Weatherbug paints a grim picture at 60% chance of rain, but weather.com says only 30%. Lately, I've found more accuracy on weather.com. My money is on a nice morning ride, consulting the radar at lunch, and getting back before the storms start. One more update before 7:00 AM with the final decision. We only have Connie and me committed from this end. Lisa and her husband live in Sebastian and will meet us there if we go. Check at 7:00.

    First weather report is like any summer report in Florida: 50/50. But, they're looking at thunderstorms late in the day. Leaving from HD @ 8 AM means I will leave here about 7 AM. I will post a final weather statement based on radar and forecasts from 3 sources before I leave so you can decide on your ride. If it looks bad, I will cancel it here.
