Just another reminder that on Sunday, Nov 8 the final SIDRA race of the season will be run. Bar to Bar typically draws one of the largest fields of the year because it removes one of the most dreaded aspects of desert racing; the DEAD ENGINE MASS START! The race is run instead with two riders leaving every minute, and it basically is a race against the clock. The mileage is also usually shorter, last year it was about 60-65 miles.
The race will start at Hemingway Butte, and finish at Rabbit Cr. Its a good time, and for anyone who is interested either check out the SIDRA website, or drop me an email and I'll be glad to help. I'll be there with my Red Suburban, and Kaw 450f #7s. The race starts at 12, with signups beginning on SATURDAY, from 4-7 pm, and then again SUNDAY from 9-11 am... your sign up is directly related to your start time. As an aside, you typically will just be racing with a handful of racers in a "bubble" of riders as the timing spaces it all out. Its a good time! Hope to see you there! Steve |

Well, what a GREAT race we had in the desert! A large group of riders; I think someone said 168 entries, perfect weather, a really cool and not that dusty course, and of course, fun trinkets for finishing!
I was able to see Brian and Joel at the race, and noticed that Brian did really well, way to go man! Joel was a rockstar, finishing 3rd overall in the C class, man I'm gonna have to push to keep up with those guys! I had a really special race as I am now an official "OLD MAN" by turning 50 the day before the race I was able to keep a good race togehter, and didn't have a single crash! I ended up taking 4th overall in my Masters class. It was cool to hang out with Joel and enjoy the day, and we both heard lots of encouraging remarks from the riders.Looking forward to getting in some desert rides now that the temps are dropping. For those of you who don't know (I'm only telling this secret info ONE time...) the time from now thru Feb is by far the most incredible riding you will ever have in the desert. The weather pattern is not at all like it is even in the close cities of Nampa, and is usually completely different than Boise. So when you see us start to post rides and it seems like the weather is crazy, chances are its different than where you are! See you in the Dez! |
