Cory- Your first ride above is posted, but this one was not because I didn't realize the date was 4-16, and I didn't notice the ride time until it was too late. Sorry! We need at least 24 hours notice, and more preferably. -Brent

Intermediate Ride Post for Saturday, June 20, 2009

Tunnel of Trees ride. This ride is an intermediate ride that makes an aprox 60 mile loop form Rabbit Cr up thru the trees to Silver City, and then over the top and back down and around to the bottom of Sinker Cr and ends up back at Rabbit Cr. This ride is really spectacular, spends the majority of the riding on two track trails in the trees and visits some cool and unknown spots. There are a handful of technical sections, but we will help anyone who needs it getting thru them. This ride is more about destinations and scenery than speed or technical works. The desert is in full bloom right now and the greenery is just stunning. Its the perfect time to see the high country!

We will meet at 9 a.m. at the Rabbit Cr. wash parking area behind Murphy. This is NOT the Rabbit Cr. Trailhead OHV site! Turn right at the bridge in Murphy, and follow the road down and you will see the parking area at your first left turn. This will save some miles from riding from the OHV trail head.
You must be able to go 60 miles on a tank of gas, or bring enough fuel to get you this distance. There is no fuel available anywhere on the loop.

I will be in my Red Suburban, with my 450 Kawi #7s and I'll try to give the historical tour as we ride. We will stop occasionally, but we will try to stay steady as we have a lot of ground to cover. Bring food and water as appropriate. Call me if you have any questions.

The Tunnel of Trees ride is CANCELLED. The weather report has changed, and the chance of rain and flash flood warnings is back into effect. This is not a ride we want to be on if the weather turns! I will post it again as soon as we have a clear window of weather.

Featherville Ride - Willow Cr, South Fork Boise River area
Saturday July 25, from 7 A.M. to 5 P.M.
Meet up at a local landmark and carpool or convoy to the Featherville area.
This ride is for advanced riders looking to tackle some very cool high mountain trails. The trails are at the edge of the Sawtooth wilderness, and may be blocked or not cleared yet.
The ride will concentrate on Willow Cr., which is a portion of the Idaho Centennial Trail that is open to motorized use. I'd like to get up and over Ross Peak, and then down the Boise River and see what other trails we want to explore to loop back. This ride will be an all day affair. Its 35-55 miles of technical single track. I would like to be on the trail by 9, and expect to be riding until we can't ride any more! The sooner we can leave the valley, the sooner we can ride. I'd like to be on the road by 7 A.M. Saturday. Its about 2 hours to the trail area. The ride is open to 8 riders. I'll be in my Suburban and I have room for two additional bikes in my trailer. My cell is 989-2414 so let me know asap who would like to go so we can decide on a local spot to get together.
